It is a great honour and with much anticipation that I cordially invite
you to apply and hopefully attend The Summer Leadership Academy
in West Africa. The Academy will be held in Dakar, Senegal which
was recently honoured as the most technologically advanced country
with the most stable democracy in all of West Africa. Senegal forms
the western most tip of Africa, making it the gateway from the
Atlantic Ocean into the continent where human life originated. Africa
is home to a wide variety of cultures, languages, and societies all
offering different perspectives on the world. Due to its location and
its important role in history Senegal is an ideal setting to be introduced
to the most racially, culturally and linguistically diverse continent in the world.

As your host, I ensure that the Academy will be an experience that you will carry with you and treasure for the rest of your life. By attending the Academy you will take a major step towards becoming an ambassador for world peace and cross cultural understanding. The Academy will be an invaluable experience of self discovery. Participants will work with highly qualified teachers and professionals, speak new and emerging languages, engage in projects that will test the intellect and stir the imagination, meet and interact with African peers, drum, paint, sing, dance, and visit fascinating sites and glorious African beaches. It will be a learning experience of a lifetime. Africa will give and you will look for ways to give in return. Africa currently faces many contemporary issues of development that will challenge your perception of the world while offering valuable lessons to be found in its people and culture, lessons of humility, dignity and respect.
